You’re seeing the GS Blog in it’s infancy. Design is still based on the blog software’s built in templates. A actual GS inspired template is still be crafted, but we didn’t want to leave you all out of the blogging fun. We wanted to get people to start blogging hard and get everyone used to the “idea sharing” we can all do here.

But Steve, I’m a total Internet n00b. I don’t even know what a blog is.

A blog is a website in which items are posted on a regular basis and displayed in reverse chronological order. The term blog is a shortened form of weblog or web log… n00b.
What?

It’s really not as fancy as most make it sound. It’s a place where we can share links and thoughts. Rather than write emails, which get deleted or buried under more email, you can post your links, ideas, and articles here where they can easily retrieved for later usage.

But why?

Many of us have come to realize that the emails we send around the office are pure gold! We needed to archive and keep these ideas in a place where they can be retrieved when ever we need to recall past brillance. So the GS Corporate Blog was born! That way when you’re wondering what happened to that link to “Dad’s Home” that got sent around, you can just search for it here with in the Fun Stuff category.

Sounds great. How do I get started?

First, you’ll need to create a user account. Just find the Login link in the Meta side bar. Then click the Register link on the next page. You should be ready to rock after that. Talk to your friendly neighborhood geek, they should be able to give you a quick once over of the posting tools. They’re pretty straight forward, but there might be a few things you’ll want to know. Seriously, it’s not that bad.

This new corporate blog should be your new stomping grounds for intelligent, interesting, and silly articles. So register and get posting. Come on, it’ll fun!
